In our "Meet the Team" series this week, we caught up with Christina. You all know her as an amazing groomer at the Dog Wash, but you probably didn't know that she's also a World of Warcraft nerd! Here's what she had to say about the grooming biz and life of Cape Cod...
What's the best part of working in the dog business?
Puppy kisses! Nothing is better than a slobbery kiss from a happy pup.
Funniest (or worst) moment you’ve had while grooming a dog?
A Newfoundland once sat in my lap while I was brushing him. I had to get help from another groomer and coax him with cookies to get him up again!
Do you have pets of your own?
Yes! I have two cats and a little gray shih-tzu mix named Cisco.
How many times have you been peed on?
I once had an elderly pup who was not thrilled with being dried. He emptied himself from both ends and fell asleep as soon as he was back in his crate. He was back up and wagging his tail within a half hour.
What's the best or most creative dog name that you’ve come across while working at Hot Diggity?
Pork'll will always be my favorite. I have no idea what it's supposed to mean, but I love being able to call out "Pork!" and see his adorable little ears perk up.
Where did you grow up? What brought you to the Cape if you’re not a native?
I grew up in Worcester, but spent quite a bit of time on the Cape as a child. There is nothing better than taking random afternoon beach trips.
Tell us one thing your customers would never guess about you.
I'm a huge World of Warcraft nerd and I spend a lot of time slaying demons in Azeroth.
What's your favorite dog character in a movie or book?
Toto from the Wizard of Oz. He's the perfect example of a tenacious little terrier.
If you were a dog, what breed would you be and why?
I aspire to be like a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. They are such happy, pleasant little dogs.
What do you do when you're not working at The Digs?
I love exploring the beaches all around the Cape and spending time with my own furry pals.
